The Brutale 989R was the final evolution of the first-generation Brutale, replacing the 910 with an over-bored 982 cc engine for more torque and power, smoother fuelling thanks to F4 R throttle bodies, and a longer final drive. It gained Brembo radial front calipers, a recalibrated Marzocchi fork and shock, forged five-spoke wheels and new graphics, while the trellis frame geometry stayed unchanged.
